Ruptured World Delivers Another Exquisite Tale of Cosmic Dark Ambience

Ruptured World continues its sci-fi epic with the third installment in the Planetary (not officially titled) series. Author Alistair Rennie writes, produces and provides yet another exquisite tale of cosmic dark ambient, bolstered by the mastering of Simon Heath (Cryo Chamber ; Atrium Carceri). I have espoused on numerous occasions that I love narrative in music - I love the weaving of story, design, and atmosphere into musical presentations, no matter the genre.

Ruptured World once again delivers high quality, cosmic ambience, enthralling the listener with its grandiose scale, while keeping the listener fastened securely to their recovery vessel; The narrative is not only displayed to the listener through text, but also a continuation of previous story arcs, this is the third installment, after all, as there are two other stories before this.

Without divulging too much of the plot (I save that for the reader/listener in order to preserve the integrity and timbre of the story), Interplanetary is told through the perspective of the search and recovery mission to Proxima Centauri b, in the hopes of locating the "Deep Space Mission for Colonial Expansion". This album is the aural tale of preparation and countdown for the launch mission, of entering, bending, warping, and hopefully emerging through time-bending spaceflight in the hopes of reaching the destination safely.

The music is exquisitely layered, never forcing itself into the narrative of your mind, rather, many times it feels slightly muted, with gossamer pads drifting aimlessly in space, as your ship traverses the cosmic sea interjected by electronic buzzings and machines whirring: a reminder that you are merely along for the ride, and not part of the greater cosmic tale. Ghostly voice transmissions lace the tracks periodically, adding to the ethereal feel and even building momentum with the inclusion of a countdown, while the excellent, subdued tracking evokes the feel of sitting in a vessel, journeying through space - no underlying sense of urgency, rather, the sense of cosmic grandeur that abounds outside the rigors of human obligation.

Interplanetary is another showcase of the inspired story told by Ruptured World, and another fine example of excellent narrative and sound design. Interplanetary by Ruptured World is now available on the Cryo Chamber Bandcamp page, and available in CD Digipack and digital formats.
