Ugasanie Unfolds A Delicate Miasma of Winter Ambience

Ugasanie once again displays frost-etched aural mastery with the hermetic and introspective newest release on the Cryo Chamber label titled, Freedom and Loneliness - an open narrative of peaceful and contemplative frozen sound design expanse.

Evocative of its title, this is not merely a collection of songs, rather it a is a musical guide, a palette, given to your mind as it guides you to paint mental vistas of snow-capped mountains overlooking frozen valleys below; it is a portrait of pagan lore, of a vast and grand scope. Descriptors as such help reveal the cold, solitude of this album, and solitude it is, for just as the title implies, the two terms are more closely related than one may think, whether for the better or worse is left to the beholder. The songs are draped in chill winds, unfolding a delicate miasma of a northern Winter, while adding soothing field recordings of streams and rivers, and of ghostly chants, ebbed forward with low drones, ending in the final song, Sorrow where the album begins to turn toward the melancholy, bestowing the essence of stoic loneliness of the life of a recluse.

It is truly the soundtrack to a relaxing Winter, of the kiss of a fire, tinged with the chill of a frozen mountain air upon a resting upon a blanket of snow. Freedom and Loneliness is available in CD digipack and digital format on the Cryo Chamber Bandcamp page.
