Explore the Final Age of Civilization with Void Stasis

Void Stasis is returned with new meditations on desolate landscapes and post-apocalyptic sounds. Helmed by Kristoff Bathory and Marie Ann Hedonia, Void Stasis is known for its methodical, slow, and analog approach to cinematic soundscapes, and Eschaton continues the aural strides that were made in the debut album, Viral Incubation, yet bringing new insights and perspectives with this new offering.

Eschaton: “the final age and the consummation of history, including the Last Judgment and the defeat of evil, the eternal blessedness of the righteous, and, in some traditions, the creation of a new heaven and earth.”

After a subtle and curious introduction of slowly evolving sounds and pads, Eschaton begins to unfurl a subtle blanket of warm analog synths, with pulsing, rhythmic stabs and pulses that all coalesce into tracks that are unique as well as evoking science fiction imaginings - the desolation of society, of the world, and its inhabitants thereof. This is the soundtrack for introspective daydreaming, fantasies of walking decayed, desolate landscapes, forlorn futuristic vistas of crumbling, abandoned buildings and cities - the tracks are inconspicuous, yet adroitly carry the listener along the narrative paths of their own imaginations, with occasional boisterous bellows of synthetic horns and the swelling repetitions of punctuated arpeggiated synths that ebb and flow in the rhythm of the tracks.

Accompanying Void Stasis on two tracks are Cryo Chamber veterans Tineidae and Atrium Carceri, both contributing their artistic brilliance to two tracks; for fans of these respective artists, the listener can clearly hear their influences on their tracks, while also working well to compliment the vision of the composers. These tracks are intricate tapestries of imaginative synthesizer textures, mingled with occasional field recordings, all giving the timbre of vacated majesty, yet also the imposing feeling of the unknown, in all its cosmic and introspective facets. Eschaton is an adept, inspired soundtrack to a post-apocalyptic science fiction movie in the imagination, whose settings and story are left to the imagination of the listener, and is certainly a must-have addition to genre fans’ libraries. You can purchase Eschaton in CD digipak and digital formats on the Cryo Chamber Bandcamp page.
