Crop Circle Realities - Still A Hoax? Watch This Film and Decide

Just when mankind thinks he has everything figured out; right as humanity feels it has conquered the next step in existence, has risen above the new challenges, has finally gotten everything figured out, there are always telltale signs in this world - sometimes subtle, sometimes blatant - that mankind still does not know much at all. From the construction of the great pyramids, to the genesis of Baalbek, just as some [sic] incorrigible blowhard arrives on the scene to pontificate the greatness of his research and understanding, some minor little detail resides in the periphery of our world to remind us that we do not, in fact, know much of anything.

Let us take, for instance, crop circles. This phenomena has seen the paradigm gamut from hysteria to hoax and now rests somewhere in the congealing consciousness of society - not quite on the forefront of everyone’s mind, but not forgotten, either. Whether it be an episode of the X-Files, a McGuffin in an M. Night Shyamalan flick, or the centerpiece in one of those really cool straight-to-DVD occult and paranormal documentaries on Amazon Prime, crop circles continue to fascinate the more open-minded of us, and Uncork’d Entertainment has released the newest of just such a film: Crop Circle Realities.

Veteran documentarian Darcy Weir brings us a new exploration into the phenomena of crop circles. Joined by Stephen Bassett (executive director of Paradigm Research Group), and Crop Circle Reporter Gary King, Weir delivers an interesting and compelling documentary into the origins of crop circles, as well as the hypotheses and sometimes downright eerie correlations with the circular formations and world events. Now, I know what you are thinking - yes, the crop circles were revealed to be a hoax… but that was only some of the crop circles. The phenomena of the circles never ceased, they merely ceased to be mentioned by secular and “accredited” media outlets(yes, my cynicism is practically oozing off the monitor).

There really is no need to write much further about this film. You, the reader, have already decided if you want to delve further into this topic, or not. The documentary is well-paced, giving actual evidence and footage of claims for authenticity in crop circles, not just the usual format of a talking head giving anecdotal remarks. Case studies and instances are referenced, and watching this film, it is clear that whether we, as viewers, believe the evidence is inconsequential - the filmmakers clearly believe there is something notable to these phenomena, and this film was well-crafted to deliver the information in an engaging way.

I love a good paranormal documentary, and as soon as I saw that Uncork’d was releasing a paranormal doc, I was all over this one. This is the most compelling and interesting film I have seen on the subject. Fans of X-Files, Ancient Aliens, and the aforementioned “Straight-to-DVD paranormal documentaries” should find something to enjoy in this one.

Crop Circle Realities is available on digital platforms as iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, Xbox, Vudu, Fandango Now, Direct TV, Dish Network, Comcast/Xfinity, Spectrum, Cox and Verizon Fios, as well as through local cable providers.
